      Emory's beautiful campus is part of the energetic Atlanta metropolitan area, which is home to more than five million people and a diversity of cultural, social, entertainment, shopping and recreational options.

      Emory's one of the southernmost schools among the nation's top-ranked universities. We enjoy four distinct seasons with temperate weather most of the school year.

      Atlanta's location makes it easy to travel. Drive a couple of hours to the Great Smoky and Blue Ridge mountains, or take a half-day's road trip to Florida, Georgia and South Carolina beaches. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport provides ready global access.

      The university is an active citizen in the community, which naturally develops connections and opportunities for Emory students, faculty and staff to explore.

      Atlanta ranks among the top 10 U.S. metro areas on a number of key higher ed indicators, according to the Metro Atlanta Chamber, including:

      • No. 7 for total undergraduate full-time enrollment
      • No. 7 for total degrees conferred
      • No. 8 for total full-time college students enrolled
      • No. 2 for total African American full-time enrollment
      • No. 5 for university research expenditures

      Emory students pursue internship and research opportunities both on and off campus.

      The university partners with many preeminent Atlanta institutions, such as The Carter Center and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

      Georgia is home to 17 Fortune 500 headquarters. Many companies on the prominent list have offices here. Dozens of countries maintain consular, trade or chamber of commerce offices here.

      About one in three alumni lives in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
